separate license for the Program is required for each
machine on which any, some, or all of the included
components are installed.
Authorized Use of the base Communications Server
component Program is based on the number of
Communications Server User authorizations acquired.
A “User” is defined as a person. The Program can be
accessed and used by multiple concurrent Users
directly or indirectly (for example, accessing the
Program via an intermediate machine or piece of
software). The total number of Users concurrently
accessing and using the Program cannot exceed the
total number of User authorizations you have
purchased.
The license to the Program entitles you to a single
User authorization. If you want to allow multiple Users
to concurrently access and use the Program, you
should purchase additional User authorizations for the
maximum number of Users you would like to
concurrently access and use the Program at any one
time.
In addition, a User authorization is required for each
active upstream or downstream connection
established to the Program for (1) application
programs that are not associated with actual users but
utilize the Programs services such as TN3270, SNA
(APPN, DLUR, SNA APIs) and (2) and AnyNet clients.
In an APPN environment, a connection is an active link
to an adjacent nodes.
The license to the Program includes an authorization
for one concurrent User. Authorizations for additional
concurrent Users may be acquired separately.
Host Publisher Feature
The Program contains a Host Publisher feature. Host
Publisher includes both a Server component and Studio
component. Use of the Host Publisher Server component
of the Program is initially restricted to the Windows NT
operating environment. You may install one Host
Publisher Server component for each Program license you
acquire.
Authorized Use of the Host Publisher Server component
is based on the number of Host Publisher Concurrent User
authorizations acquired.
You must acquire an authorization for every Host
Publisher Concurrent User. A Host Publisher
Concurrent User is defined as one concurrent
session/connection to an existing application. An
example of a session/connection would be the Program
connected to an existing application through a TN3270,
TN5250, VT, or JDBC connection.
The license to the Program includes authorization for
one Host Publisher Concurrent User. Authorizations
for additional Host Publisher Concurrent Users may be
acquired separately. Authorization for a Host
Publisher Concurrent User includes the necessary
authorization to access and use other features of the
Program, and Users of Communications Server
accessing Host Publisher under a Host Publisher
Concurrent User authorization do not require an
additional Communications Server User authorization.
The Host Publisher Studio component of the Program runs
only in the Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98,
Windows NT, and Windows 2000 operating environments
and is used to customize and develop Host Publisher
applications. You are allowed to install and use an
unlimited number of copies of the Host Publisher Studio
component within your enterprise for purposes of
education, or development, or customization of your
applications for use with the Host Publisher Server.
Host Publisher includes WebSphere Application Server,
Standard Edition (WebSphere) which is used as an
integral part of the Host Publisher runtime environment.
The license to the Program allows you to install and use
WebSphere on the same machine as the Host Publisher
Server Component solely as necessary to support your
use of the Host Publisher feature.
Host Publisher includes IBM Network Dispatcher to
provide load balancing across multiple Host Publisher
Servers. The license to the Program allows you to install
and use the included Network Dispatcher solely to provide
the load balancing function for Host Publisher Servers. If
you require load balancing for other applications or
servers, you must acquire the authorizations for these
additional copies of Network Dispatcher separately.
Host On-Demand Entry
The Program contains an entry-level version of the Host
On-Demand emulator. You may install and deploy this
entry-level version of the emulator only on the same
machine on which you install the Communications Server
portion of the Program, and you may use the Host
On-demand feature solely to establish a telnet session
directly between Communications Server Users and the
Communications Server portion of the Program.
Entry-level Version of Personal Communications
The Program contains an entry-level version of the
Personal Communications emulator. You are allowed to
install and use this version of Personal Communications
for administrative purposes on the same machine as
Communications Server. You are not authorized to use
the entry-level emulator on any other server or the
clients.
MDAC 2.0 Files
The MDAC files, required by the AS/400 OLE DB Provider,
are provided under license from Microsoft Corporation.
A copy of the Microsoft End User License Agreement is
included in the eulamdac.doc file in the csnt directory on
the Communication Server for Windows NT and Windows
2000 CD. The Microsoft license, and not this agreement,
governs your use of this code.
